Sacrifice about half your power slots for bow skills and leave the remaining ones for heals/buffs, obviously use a bow and you get a hybrid class that's pretty fun and is actually pretty handy when fighting enemies that fly or have melee counters. Probably the most fun build I've used is (unexpectedly) my White Mage which I built along early Final Fantasy lines for fun.
